Fundraising Terms & Conditions for Volunteers in line with the Charities Regulator which is an independent authority, established on a statutory basis in 2014 by the Minister of Justice and Equality in accordance with the Charities Act 2009. The key functions include the establishment and maintenance of a public register of charitable organisations operating in the Republic of Ireland, and ensuring their compliance with the Charities Acts. 

The Friends of Sligo University Hospital regularly update and reassess their terms and conditions in accordance with the Charity Regulator.

The Fundraiser agrees to provide Friends of Sligo University Hospital with all net proceeds from the event, no more than 30 days after the event.

The logo is not to be used without prior approval from the charity and cannot be altered in any way.

Any documentation incorporating the logo must be proofread by Friends of Sligo University Hospital prior to distribution or publication.

The term of the permission granted shall be from the date Friends of Sligo University Hospital approves the Fundraiser’s proposal until the conclusion of the event, provided that Friends of Sligo University Hospital has the right to revoke permission if it determines, in its reasonable discretion that the event is or will likely be injurious to the brand.

In accordance with the Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public, the Fundraiser must specify the following on their Registration Form, prior to the solicitation of funds:

  • That Friends of Sligo University Hospital is the benefiting organisation
  • The actual or anticipated portion of the proceeds that will benefit Friends of Sligo University Hospital
  • The duration of the campaign

In order to avoid inadvertently jeopardising existing relationships between Friends of Sligo University Hospital and its corporate supporters, the Fundraiser agrees to receive prior approval from Friends of Sligo University Hospital before soliciting corporations, businesses, celebrities, sports teams or individuals that are listed on our website or known associates, for cash or in-kind donations relating to the event.

Fundraiser agrees to:

  • Complying with all applicable laws during the planning, promotion and conduct of the event
  • All required insurance licenses and permits will be obtained by the Fundraiser and will be in force until the conclusion of the event
  • The Event will result in no cost or expense to Friends of Sligo University Hospital whatsoever
  • Indemnify and hold Friends of Sligo University Hospital harmless from any claims of any kind or nature arising out of or in any way related to the event

Friends of Sligo University Hospital accepts no responsibility for any loss, injury or claim arising from this event and adequate insurances should be arranged by the organisers to provide cover for any claims that may arise.

The fundraiser should not open a bank account in Friends of Sligo University Hospital name, nor may it endorse or attempt to negotiate any cheques made payable to Friends of Sligo University Hospital, all of which must be promptly forwarded to Friends of Sligo University Hospital for processing.

All buckets used in collections MUST be sealed at all times, in accordance with the Guidelines for Charitable Organisations .  

Fundraising from the Public.

We do not have a platform for sale of goods.

We do our best to support all events, however owing to certain circumstances it may not always be possible to be present.

We endeavour to provide social media support where possible.
